More than 8 miles of hiking trails at Claytor Nature Center allow visitors to experience a wide variety of flora and fauna and beautiful natural landscapes, including open fields, woodlands, riverside cliffs, and wetlands.

We do not allow horses, all-terrain vehicles, or bikes on our trails. Leashed dogs are welcome. Thank you for helping us maintain a sanctuary for wildlife and all visitors by keeping your pets on a leash and cleaning up after your pet.

The Center is also registered on the Virginia Bird & Wildlife Trail with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources.

Trail maps are available at the kiosk in the parking lot of the education building.
